Which floor would you choose for a heavy traffic location?

Around six years ago, Blueridge installed a stunning solid wenge floor to the below ground cocktail bar at the Karpo restaurant in Kings Cross.  Being in London frequently for current projects means we can keep track of how our installed floors are performing.  We’re happy to say that the floors at Karpo have withstood the heavy footfall you’d expect in a bar.

Specifying floors for areas such as bars and restaurants has to be a careful mix of aesthetic appeal and high level durability.  Apart from a looking a little tired, which is easily remedied with a sand and seal, the wenge has performed brilliantly and is a great example of the kind of floor to consider when designing these highly trafficked spaces.

Blueridge also created the feature floor in the main restaurant using solid handmade American Black Walnut which was installed around an ellipse of obscure glass and set into polished concrete.  Another product that has performed well in a high traffic area.
